Probably the easiest thing to do to support koalas is to be curious and key to this is to not make assumptions. Your first step may be to commit to setting aside 30 minutes a week to read about what is happening for koalas. We have some great reports that can help you get started and you can check out our social media.

When you are ready to get active there is so much you can do. It is important to let your State and Federal representatives know of your concerns, so speak out and  write to them to tell them what you expect them to do to save Australia’s unique wildlife for future generations.

We let our members and followers know when the government is asking for public comments, so we will keep you informed about important deadlines for submissions. The easiest way to stay up to day is to become a Koala Alliance member.

We would love you to join us and we know we are stronger together!

Koala Alliance is also looking for a number of people with specialist knowledge to support the organisation.

Our current volunteer needs are outlined below and we update this page regularly – so, please keep checking in!

Finally, as a 100% volunteer run organisation we welcome donations to support our projects, campaigns, rallies and reports.

Are you a Citizen Scientist Researcher/Investigator? Do you love searching out hard to find information and are happy heading down rabbit holes? Maybe you have been part of a team researching cold case homicides? Can you donate 3 hours/week for the next 3 months to undertake research which we believe is vital to saving Victoria’s Koalas?

If you answer YES to some or all these questions, Koala Alliance needs You.

Research Project 1: We Need To Talk About WESN: The Wildlife Emergency Support Network (WESN) was formed in late 2020. It was established by the
Victorian Government under the Wildlife Welfare Bushfire Response 2020 Action Plan, created after the 2019/20 bushfires to assist during emergency response activities for bushfire events where wildlife is impacted. We believe that WESN has not been performing the role it was created for, but we need evidence
to show that this is the case. Read the linked brief to find out more.

If you have ideas on how you would like to support the Koala Alliance you can always get in touch via our Contact Page.
